iOS 27.2 Release Candidate: What’s New (Plain English)

Apple seeded the iOS 27.2 Release Candidate (build 24B115). Here’s what changed in plain English — and which Just Clack iPhone apps to keep handy after you update.

Apple seeded the iOS 27.2 Release Candidate to developers on October 19, 2026 (build 24B115). An RC is usually the last test build before a public release — so if you’re not a beta tester, this is your heads-up for what’s coming.

Here’s what matters on a normal iPhone, without the rumor fog.

Should you install the RC?

Install the RC only if you’re in the Apple Developer (or Public Beta) program and okay with occasional bugs.

Everyone else: wait for the public iOS 27.2 release. When it lands, update overnight while charging.

What’s actually new in iOS 27.2

Siri AI in more languages

What it does: Expands Siri AI to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Who cares: Anyone who uses Siri in those languages.
How to try it: After updating, check Settings → Siri (language/region options vary by country).

Apple TV profiles on iPhone and iPad

What it does: Adds profiles for the Apple TV app on iPhone/iPad.
Who cares: Shared households that already use TV profiles on the big screen.
How to try it: Open the TV app after updating and look for profile switching.

Call Context anniversary alerts

What it does: Call Context can surface anniversary-style reminders.
Who cares: People who live in Phone / Contacts all day.
How to try it: Watch for Call Context prompts around saved contact dates after the update.

EU App Tracking Transparency prompt

What it does: Supports an alternative expanded ATT prompt for users in the European Union.
Who cares: EU users (and developers shipping there).
How to try it: You’ll see it when apps request tracking permission under the new flow.

What was pulled

A redesigned Health app appeared in earlier 27.2 betas and was removed. Those Health features are expected in a later update — not in 27.2.

After you update: keep these iPhone tools ready

Point releases rarely break apps, but it’s smart to re-check the tools you use weekly. From Just Clack:

Need App Link
Round profile pictures Circle Crop: Photo Crop & PFP App Store
Video → MP3 offline MP3 Converter • Video to Audio App Store
HIIT / Tabata / EMOM HIIT Interval Timer: Circuit App Store

All three run on-device. No account required for the core workflows.

How to install (when the public release ships)

  1. Plug in power and join Wi‑Fi.
  2. Go to Settings → General → Software Update.
  3. Tap Update Now.
  4. Enter your passcode and let the phone restart.

Developers on the RC: Settings → General → Software Update with the iOS 27 developer beta selected.

If something breaks after updating

  • Force-quit the app and reopen it
  • Check the App Store for an app update
  • Restart the iPhone

Bottom line

iOS 27.2 RC is close to public. Note the Siri language expansion and TV profiles, wait for the public build unless you’re testing, then keep your everyday utilities — Circle Crop, MP3 Converter, and HIIT Interval Timer — updated and ready.
